Its not exactly Steve Jobs’ advice though. The quote is attributed to Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, who is quoted as saying that your to-do list should be 15,000 items instead of 15,000 items, and that your to-do is so huge that you will never finish.
I like this quote. It’s the kind of thing that reminds you that you’re human, and that you should try not to whine or complain about your job. If you’re really stuck, you can always take a break from the to-do list and start looking for the next one.
Wozniak is probably right on one measure, though it’s a little much to throw around in a day where you’re trying to work on your to-do list. Most of us wouldn’t be able to make 15,000 items in a day, and I would be hard-pressed to say that I would be able to finish a 15,000-item list by the end of the day.
Wozniak is not wrong. There are some jobs where you arent able to work at a full-time rate, and then there are some projects where you arent able to spend your entire day at work. However, the fact that he can do both shows that he’s a smart, smart person, so he knows what he’s talking about.
